We built our dream home in 1989, a nice yard with
neighbors that weren't too close.
This summer we were burglarized in broad daylight. The intruder(s) smashed an operable
window on the backside of our house with a brick. They entered and went through the house.
Some of the things that were stolen can't ever really be replaced. We felt terrible.
The first thing I said when I called Comtec was it feels like I'm closing the barn door
after the horse got out.
Our feeling was the burglar did not take everything he could have. We thought they might
come back. The Comtec representative agreed with us and insisted that the system be
installed as quickly as possible.
The morning after Comtec completed the installation I accidentally triggered the system. I
almost decided to leave it off until we got more familiar with it. Instead I armed the
system again and went to work.
Later I received a call that the alarm had gone off. The same window had been broken out
again. This time the police had 2 people in custody and we recovered some of our property
lost in the first break-in.
We are real happy with our security system and glad I armed the system that morning!

I want to encourage everyone to educate themselves about what kind of
system they are buying.
I'm not afraid to ask questions, and in purchasing a security system I recommend you ask a
lot of them and educate yourself. We knew there were good ones but we also knew how big a
nuisance a bad one is.
We wanted a wired system. After taking 5 bids, COMTEC was the only Alarm Company that said
it could be done. In fact, one company stated that if COMTEC could do it, they wanted to
come back and see how it was done!
The salesman from Comtec took extra time to look over our needs and assured us that what
we wanted was possible. Mike Thomas the technician who installed the system was wonderful.
He took great care and showed a positive attitude under the most difficult circumstances.
Comtec was not the lowest bid and after this experience I would give this advice. "Walk
away from the lowest bid."
I am completely happy with my system.

We recently had the most unfortunate experience. After moving to our new
home in Choctaw we experienced a burglary. Actually two burglaries. The burglars must have
been watching our home. We both left the house for work in the morning at about 7:00 A.M.
and upon returning 2 hours later we noticed our trailer had been stolen from the yard. We
purchased a padlock for our gate and felt this would prevent them from returning by
keeping the gate locked.
Several days later we were shocked to find that sometime between 12:30 P.M. and 4:30 P.M.
someone had just smashed through our gate with a car or truck. They entered our detached
garage by prying an aluminum window until the locks gave and entered our home through a
back door. The back door was solid wood and had a dead-bolt lock.
The police thought they were experienced burglars because of the items taken and the lack
of vandalism.
Our family was very upset. The feeling of being burglarized is very difficult to
adequately explain. It is much easier to replace the items stolen than the feeling of
being secure in our home.
Our children were in need of something to make them feel good in their home again. We
purchased a monitored security system from COMTEC and they installed the system that
weekend. We appreciate the prompt installation and are very pleased with our system. Our
children feel better now.

It was late in the evening sometime around 10 o'clock. I was washing
laundry for my grandchildren. The washer and dryer are in my garage at one end of my
house. I had just come from the garage about 10 minutes before when my grandson Aaron ran
into the house yelling, "There's a fire in the garage!" I couldn't have been
more surprised. When I looked there were flames to the ceiling!
I dialed 911 and the voice on the phone asked "what kind of fire?" I told them
what kind of fire...a big one that was out of control!
Although I didn't know it at the time, my grandson had gone outside and opened the garage
door with the portable opener to see the flames. This just added more air for the fire to
burn hotter. The fire department arrived in about 3 minutes although it seemed like 3
hours to me.
In the meantime the fire triggered my Comtec security system. The central station, unable
to get an answer at my home had called my son and he had rushed over to help. My house had
to be torn down to the concrete and built all over again. My new system has smoke
detectors!

newsletter. There is a difference between a burglar alarm and a security system! We had to
buy both. A burglar alarm that didn't work from one of your competitors and the security
system we got from COMTEC.

I heard a noise that caught my attention. It was the sound of my automatic
garage door opening. It was dark outside and I decided to get my gun and call my neighbor
across the street.
When he arrived we found a car backing out of my driveway and my garage door open! The car
drove away before we could do anything. I was upset and concerned. How did the people in
the car open my garage door?! What should I do now?
About an hour later, I was still up and had lights on. I heard the door open again. The
car was back! This time I unplugged the garage door operator and called the police.
The next day I begin looking for solutions. Comtec Security came out right away and talked
to me about security systems.
After listening to my story, we discussed various options to provide what I needed. After
offering to look at my garage door opener, we determined the factory pre-programmed code
had never been changed! My portable button was transmitting at a very easy to copy code
and my mysterious visitors had stumbled on it. He changed the code right then.

When a friend referred COMTEC to us, we had them install a security system
in our home about 2 years ago. In making the decision on what kind of system would be best
for us, we talked about all the different kinds of detectors and how they worked.
We liked how the glass breakage detectors looked and how they worked, allowing us to use
the entire system even when we're home. We also liked the 24-hour monitoring and felt this
was a feature we just had to have. We even added smoke detectors to complete the system.
Over the 4th of July weekend we were out of town. Saturday morning, according to the
computerized dispatch log at the central station, someone tried to break the glass on our
back window. We know exactly when it happened; 12:00:16 (to the second) and what happened;
the glass break detector is zoned separately.
The Police were dispatched and the central station reached the 3rd person on my call list.
A short time later when the police arrived and saw the back window had been broken out,
they called the central station which promptly called the 3rd person on the list again to
ask them to come over. The would-be burglar did not go any further than breaking the
glass. We feel the alarm system and the quick response prevented the intruder(s) from
entering the house.
COMTEC came out and reviewed our system with us. Since we had recently replaced some
windows and remodeled, we decided we should add several glass break sensors. We liked the
fact that the police knew exactly where the break-in would be when they were dispatched to
our home. To do this, we also added several zones to the system to identify the new glass
breakage sensors.
Another additional feature was the securing of the telephone lines. This means I don't
have to worry about someone cutting the telephone lines and preventing me or my wife from
calling for help.

It was Monday night and I had been out of town for a week. During my
absence I had taken all the normal precautions, having my papers picked up and my lights
on. About 2:30 A.M. a noise on my roof woke me up. I'm a light sleeper but I couldn't
really tell what was causing the noise. I looked out all the windows and went back to bed
thinking it was squirrels making the noise.
The noise didn't stop so on my third time up I decided I would make some noise to see if I
could scare off whatever was making the noise. To my surprise, when I looked out the
window this time, I saw a ladder at the back of my house!
I was in the kitchen at the time so I triggered the security system (I never go to bed
without arming my security system and called 911. By the time the police arrived I had a
handgun and had seriously considered shooting up through the roof.
The police found the outside utility room where I keep my tools had been burglarized. On
the roof of my home, next to the bathroom vent, we found a neat stack of shingles. The
burglars had used my own ladder and hatchet! The intruders were gone now, but we think
there were two of them.
I can only guess that whoever it was thought I was gone. It's very unsettling to think of
how things might have gone without waking up and being able to trigger my security system.
I have been unable to figure out why the big German Shepherd that my neighbor has in his
back yard never barked!?! The police thought they were professionals, but even
professionals get barked at by dogs.
It was the scariest thing I have ever gone through! I have had all the heavy shrubs
removed from my yard. I also had COMTEC come out and contact the attic stairway and
monitor my system. The monitoring is worth every bit of the cost.
I want to thank Comtec, my neighbor, and the police department for all the help. The
police were quite alert after finding a loud alarm and a lady with a gun in her hand.

construction they also wired a speaker system. We found the system and all installation
work to be above our expectations.
Your technician, Michael Gary, came to our home to activate the system. He was very
courteous and helpful and did an outstanding job installing our speakers. We hope you are
aware you have such a fine employee.

The salesman of an alarm company with a big ad in the yellow pages told me
there wasn't a device that would detect forced entry through 3 sheets of plexi-glass that
cover over my bedroom windows. When I insisted that these windows be protected, he came
back out and told me that there was a device called an 'audio detector' that would
accomplish what I wanted.
When Comtec came out, I showed them the same windows and I told him what I had been told
by the other alarm representative.
He told me that there was indeed quality devices made for this purpose, but that the
'audio detector' recommended by the other company would not ever work Comtec explained in
detail the technology and why it wouldn't work in this situation.
I was so confused now that to confirm he was correct, he offered to call the technical
department of the company that made the 'audio detector'. While I eagerly listened on an
extension line without the technician knowing, the Comtec representative gave the details
of the plexi-glass windows. When he was through, he asked the technician....."If you
had this in your house would you use this detector?" I was speechless when I heard
the voice on the phone laugh and say, " No way, that would never work."
If not for Comtec I could have had a system which 'protected' the back windows with a
device that would never have worked! I have since bought a second system for another home.

Comtec note: Plexiglas does not make the same noise as breaking
glass. It requires a detector that senses the vibrations of forced entry! An 'audio
detector' must hear the frequencies of breaking glass.
I would like to take this opportunity to commend one of your security
consultants. I contacted several companies and met with their respective representatives.
While many of the systems were easily "weeded out" due to inferior quality
and/or unreasonable contracts, there was still several left to choose from. I am extremely
happy with my system and feel very comfortable about its use and effectiveness.

system there as well. Although that installation should be much less challenging, it is

About 4 a.m. we received a call from the central station that a motion
sensor had been triggered. We found that our convenience store had been broken into
through a very small vent in the roof. The intruder had crawled through the attic to an
opening and came down into the store. When they moved out from this area our Comtec
security system sensed them and triggered the siren and the police response. They did not
take anything but were able to get away before the police arrived.
We suspected who it was (we were later proven wrong) but didn't know what to do. We
thought that we had 'dodged a bullet', our security system had done its job, and the
burglars knew better than to come back.
A few nights later at almost the same time in the morning, we were called again. When the
call came in the middle of the night that our alarm had been triggered, I couldn't get
there fast enough.... My mind was wandering about what I was going to find when I arrived.
This time the burglar had crawled into the attic through the same vent but this time had
kicked a hole through the ceiling over a space not covered by the motion sensor. The
sensor eventually triggered after the burglar(s) cleaned out a few aisles of merchandise
and began wandering around.
This time we called COMTEC for some help. We had recently asked them to take over the
service and monitoring of our security because the company that originally installed it
was not doing a good job. We were determined to catch whoever was doing this.
Together, we decided to install another motion sensor and unhook the siren. If they came
back again we would be ready!
Several days later, again at almost the same time of night, we were notified that the new
motion sensor had been triggered. I was excited this time! I knew we were going to catch
someone.
The burglars were caught red-handed! With no siren to alert them of the fact they had been
detected, the police arrived and took into custody 3 burglars. One of them was still
trying to get through the vent!
Being burglarized was a frustrating experience. I never want to go through this again.
We want to say thanks to COMTEC for working with us to solve our problem. They are now
installing a system in my home.

We moved into a home that already had a Comtec Security System..... And
are we glad. Whatever the original owners paid for it, it's worth 10 times as much. Let me
explain.
We live in Piedmont. One afternoon two thieves decided our house was their next target.
First they attempted to cut our telephone line but it was buried into the garage and
instead they cut the ground wire to my 'antenna vision' cable.
Then they proceeded to pry and batter a steel walk-in door to my garage. They couldn't get
this door open, but they succeeded in triggering the alarm. Ignoring the siren because
there are no homes nearby, they moved over to a sliding glass patio door at the back. They
managed to jiggle the lock free (again triggering another zone on our security system) but
couldn't open it because of a pipe we had placed in the track.
COMTEC dispatched the Police Department then called my office. Since I was out of pocket
and had to be found by my secretary, COMTEC proceeded to call my wife also. We reached the
house at about the same time.
The police were there and had apprehended two men running from the scene. They claimed
their car had run out of gas and they were 'just trying to get some gas'. One of the
burglars had a prior record of breaking and entering.
Sure enough it looks like the thieves had lost their nerve under the sound of the siren
and ran to their car only to have it almost immediately run out of gas!
Needless to say we are very thankful for the security system. We have a myriad of things
in our home that are irreplaceable. The thieves didn't even get in and we caught them.

We have a friend, Jim Ragan, who is the most thorough shopper you'll ever
find. He does his homework and doesn't buy anything unless it's the best. Jim had a COMTEC
security system installed in his home and told us about it. We knew it was time to have
the benefits of a security system in our home.
We live in a doublewide mobile home in far southeast Oklahoma City and when the installers
came out, they had to crawl around and do all the wiring underneath the house. One of the
COMTEC technicians, Robby Way, noticed the distinct odor of propane gas coming from
beneath our home.
Propane is heavier than air... and the thought of what could happen if this area became
saturated with propane gas and ignited ...well, we were immediately concerned.
I told Robby that we had smelled it many times (we've lived here 13 years) but the Gas
Company had been out and told us it was just the damp earth. You can imagine my surprise
when, upon closer inspection, we found the main pipe connection was only finger tight. You
could even hear the gas spewing out!
I was raised to give a little extra. When I was a mechanic, I used to notice things that
you could repair early before they got worse or more expensive.
I want to thank COMTEC and Robby Way for the extra effort to help us.
It doesn't take much imagination to see what kind of disaster we may have avoided finding
that leak. Besides the excellent security system our propane bill is a lot less!

Three years ago we installed a central vacuum system from Comtec. My
husband and I had discussed doing this for a long time. We normally keep a real clean
house (despite raising two teenage boys and a large longhaired dog), but the amount of
time it took to do all the cleaning was enormous.
The facts that the system was quiet (you can watch the football game on TV without
interruption while the system is on) and easy to use (just plug in the hose and go) made
our central vacuum an instant favorite.
Although we had invested in several expensive air cleaners, my allergies still bothered
me.

One evening, I began experiencing a problem with my alarm system. When I
hastily attempted to replace a fuse on the alarm panel, I accidentally shorted out several
electronic components. I placed a call to Comtec and was immediately contacted by Mr.
Jessie Holcombe Jr. of your service department.
After Jessie patiently and politely spent twenty minutes on the phone assisting me in
further isolating the problem, it became apparent that a service call was required.
The next day, within two hours of placing a service request, Mr. Tommy Finch arrived at
our home and promptly diagnosed the problem. He repaired and reprogrammed the panel. I was
spared the expense of a new control panel! He tested our complete system including our
monitored smoke detectors. The system is now back in operation and performing perfectly!
As an electronics engineer, with over 25 years experience, I appreciate the talents (and
sense of humor) of excellent technicians such as Jessie and Tommy who can diagnose and
repair today's sophisticated electronics without automatically replacing an entire module.
I really appreciate the fact that both of these individuals were concerned with promptly
repairing my system at a minimum cost to me.

After I had my home burglarized, I had a Comtec security system installed.
The other day they tried it again! The police were there in 4 minutes and when I arrived
15 minutes later they were still there.
They had kicked in a back door that was on delay. Since they couldn't hear the keypad
beeping they were able to get to some power tools in my garage before the siren kicked in.
I believe if it hadn't been for the alarm system it would have been much worse. The last
time they took jewelry and all my stereo gear out of the house. I am very pleased with my
system, it obviously works.
I also want to recommend that everyone get the phone line secured into the house so it
can't be cut. It really helps my peace of mind.

A couple of months ago the security system triggered about 9:00 a.m. Your Central Station
called my dad. He deactivated the system, but could not find the cause of the alarm.
This last weekend I opened a window and was surprised to find the screen damaged. The
rubber weather-seal looked like someone had tried to force their way in. It will cost
twenty dollars to repair the window and screen. That's not much compared to what it could
have been.
